Maybe not a lot has changed. EA paid lots of lip service to Franchise mode this season, but also in practice, nearly none of it affects the game meaningfully. The menu UI was slightly changed to a black on gray color scheme which is tougher to parse, in my opinion. Depending on the type of franchise you select, you'll either see that your coach or participant goofing around in a mostly static landscape. It does nothing to enhance the mode and can be pure fluff. The same holds for the allegedly"new" draft presentation, where you are going to see a very crappy appearing NFL Draft point that only cries left and right over an image of whomever you drafted. Each of the draft voice-over from this past year appears to be gone.
Player upgrades in Franchise Mode have shifted over to a scheme match system and player stats have been increased by ditching points into a play style that will reward feature bonuses randomly inside that play style's forte. The system isn't bad, but useless unless you manually do cheap Madden 20 coins for every one of your players, since the CPU will not auto-upgrade any players based on strategy fit. Scouting and drafting players stays unchanged from last year and is still quite underwhelming.
