Aluminum tubing that has been subjected to hot pressing and then extruded is known as an extruded aluminum tube. They are first compressed by hot pressing, and then bring them to the predetermined size by cold-drawing through one or more mandrels. There is another type of pipe that is called a cold-deformed pipe, which is also known as a drawn pipe.

Pipes that are both seamless and seam
Extruded aluminum tubes are divided into a pipe and seamless pipe. The term "welded pipes," which is typically reserved for a steel pipe, is never utilized in reference to aluminum pipe. The difference between the aluminum seam pipe and the steel seam pipe is that the aluminum seam pipe has an implicit seam while the steel seam pipe has a prominent seam weld. And not just a regular welding process—whether it be gas or electric, but rather directly in a matrix while it is being compacted at a high pressure.

Because of this, clearly seam pipe, such as coiled tubing with a length greater than one kilometer, will sometimes advertise itself as seamless pipe, despite the fact that it cannot be seamless.

AND it is extremely difficult to tell visually the difference between seamless and seam aluminum tubes. However, there are significant distinctions between the two, and which one is selected will be determined by the functions that will be performed by the pipe. These types of seam aluminum pipes are referred to as structural tubes in the regulatory and technical writing of other countries (structural tubes and pipes).

It's possible to refer to these seam pipes as nebesshovnye, but doing so seems awkward and, in some cases, even illiterate.

How to make pipes that are completely seamless
There are primarily two processes involved in the production of seamless aluminum tubing. The first method involves extruding an aluminum ingot that has been hollowed out by passing it through a die and a mandrel in a specialized press while the press is heated to a high temperature. In another method, a solid ingot (billet) is first pierced on a press using a special mandrel – the so-called needle – and then out of the hollow ingot are already compressed tube. This method is very similar to the first method.

No matter which of the two methods is used to make the pipe, there will be no weld on the finished product., which, by the way, makes it an excellent candidate for anodizing as well as other methods of decorative surface finish.

The benefits that come with using seamless pipes
The following are some of the benefits of using pipes that are seamless:

without seams, which is a requirement for their use in applications involving high pressure;

surface with a more uniform appearance that has been anodized, particularly for pipes with thicker walls;

increased structural strength due to the absence of welds, which could cause fractures in the event that the pipe underwent a deformation such as flattening or distribution.

Structural aluminum tubes

Seaming that is produced using standard pipe extrusion presses on specialized matrices, also known as port-hole or bridge matrices. A solid ingot of aluminum, known as a billet, is forced (extruded) through a die of this type, which requires a significant amount of force as well as a high press temperature for the billet.

During this phase of the compaction process, the preform is divided into two or four sections of aluminum flux. These sections then converge on one another before being welded together under intense pressure in what is known as a welding chambers matrix. After the tubes have been anodized or etched, traces of the welded seams can still be seen in the tubes.

The many benefits of using structural pipes (with seams)

The following are some of the many benefits that structural pipes (seams) offer:

the ability to apply mnogoochkovye matrix for small diameter pipes, which increases productivity and reduces the cost of the pipes; the ability to provide tighter tolerances for wall thickness and ovality.

The utilization of aluminum tubes that are seamless

Uses for seamless aluminum pipe include the following:

pipes designed to transport liquids and gases at high pressure; pipes with a high strength rating; pipes with an anodic oxide coating that has a high quality appearance

Gauge aluminum tubes

Aluminum tubes, both seamless and constructed, can be square, rectangular, or round, and they can come in a wide variety of diameters for the circumscribed circle or the outer diameter. Pipes made of aluminum alloy have varying degrees of durability, depending on wall thickness and tube dimensions.

Have you ever pondered the reason why residents of London refer to their subway as "The Tube" and not "The Pipe"? We had no idea either, until one of our coworkers inquired about the distinction between tube and pipe. It is common practice to use these words interchangeably because tubes and pipes are essentially the same thing: long hollow cylinders. However, to an engineer, tubes and pipes are not the same thing.

Definitions of the Hollow Cylinder

The difference lies in the method that is used to measure or specify the hollow cylinders, which in turn is determined by the application for which they are intended. Because it is utilized for the transportation of fluids and other media, aluminum pipe is characterized by its internal diameter (ID), also known as its bore. It is important to know the ID because seamless aluminum tube is used to calculate the capacity of the pipe, which is typically the aspect of the pipe that is of the utmost importance to the buyer.

The outside diameter (OD) of a round tube made of aluminum is used to define the tube. This is due to the fact that tube is used for structural purposes. When it comes to the application, the bore isn't all that important, but the outside diameter (OD) probably does matter quite a bit. It's important to note that the tube doesn't have to be round. In actuality, all a "tube" refers to is an enclosed internal passage. For instance, in addition to round aluminum tubing, you can also purchase square and rectangular shapes.
