The realistic sense of force can help the operator feel better, and China Mechanical Parts(XINGHUI) can perform virtual assembly. In addition, for VA of mechanical parts, the tolerance class must be considered to apply an appropriate assembly force. Of the three common types of assembly fits, the type of clearance fit is the focus of virtual manual assembly, because parts with this type of fit require precise force feedback to assist users in assembly operations. This study proposes a novel force-drawing model for VA of mechanical parts with clearance fit. By breaking down the actual assembly operation into three consecutive states, a corresponding force can be formed.
A prototype system was designed and developed to implement the model, and a comparative case study was conducted to investigate the performance of the user using three other common methods using a typical WIMP (window icon menu pointer with CAD software) ) Interface with physical simulation of collision detection and a method that combines physical simulation and geometric constraint constraints. The results show that by providing users with continuous and realistic force feedback, the proposed model is more realistic.
