Impale: Many physical builds benefit from Impale nodes (such as “Forceful Skewering”).
Bleed or Poison Damage: Depending on your playstyle, you can invest in bleed damage over time or Path of exile currency poison nodes (e.g., “Bloodletting”).
Defensive Nodes:
Invest heavily in life nodes (such as “Thick Skin”) as this is the core defensive mechanic for most melee and physical builds.
Armor and Block nodes are highly recommended if you are using a shield.
Fortify: Look for POE currency Fortify effect nodes like “Champion of the Cause,” as this enhances your defense and reduces incoming damage.
Resistances: Ensure your elemental resistances are capped (minimum 75% for all three—fire, cold, lightning).
