Like when Madden nfl determines your QB is going to be sacked, you absolutely don't have any chance to try to get a pass, even if it'll be a rickety mess. The QB eats the sack and always just pulls inside. To say nothing about the way defenders play with the ball (i.e. linebackers out balls balls out of the air that are passing by them without even looking at the path of the ball and consequently no way to know that the ball will be in that specific spot at the specific moment). But even the"fine" animations are part of a really awful game. Madden nfl's so reliant on making things look"good" it ends up feeling overly scripted.
Madden 20 animations are awful. The animation has been awful. It looks like you are gliding. Games such as assassin's Creed are the golden standard of animations. Each step Madden 21 coins appears powerful and meaningful. Each hop has energy and momentum behind it. Madden since the beginning of time has looked like their ice. EA should easily be able to take the leap that Assassin's Creed did between AC3 and AC Unity. The difference in animations is literally day and night and just occurred in 1 year. I am sure the devs are talented, but the management does not care about making matches, therefore Madden nfl are not good.
