For the most part, my time in Blade and Soul NEO has been interesting enough in terms of fights but not so intense that I really felt threatened. As I wrote last week, the switch to the Assassin definitely made me sit up and take notice, but as things have worn on, I’ve sort of felt as if I am entering a bit of a routine. That has slowly begun to change, however, and I’m starting to think that perhaps the Assassin is a bit of a self-own in the later levels. Or it’s a class that I can’t wait to unpeel and learn to master. I’m still not sure which side I fall on right now. Before I start to absorb my thoughts there, I should report in on what happened when I followed the previous polls results, which was to put on the PvP outfit and see whether or not that would change my overall experience. It most definitely did not: I had it on for a couple of hours and ran around doing the story and side quests as usual completely unmolested. About the only time that I was killed from someone on the opposing faction was when I was doing a PvP-specific quest, and even then I’m pretty sure that was an NPC and not another player. After a little while, I elected to just ignore that whole thing, put on my previous pantless ninja girl outfit (we all know that pantslessness improves stealth and combat effectiveness by about 30%), and continued the F Key Smash Train, picking up all of the yellow and blue quest arrows while killing all of the 10 rats or entering into another one of three similarly styled instanced cave maps. If this reads like exhaustion, then that’s good because that’s what I was feeling. The levels were starting to come less frequently, as were the additional skills to hit, so I was beginning to hit a routine. Or more appropriately a rut. But then at some point, I was kicked out of the frying pan and into the fire. In the ever-expansive world of Diablo 4, reaching level 50 marks the beginning of a new journey – the endgame. As players ascend beyond this milestone, the path to further power and mastery lies in navigating the treacherous realm of Nightmare Dungeons. In this guide, we'll delve into the strategies and tactics necessary to swiftly ascend from level 50 to 100, ensuring you're prepared to face the challenges that await in Diablo 4's endgame. Upon reaching level 50, players unlock the ability to switch to World Tier 3, signaling the commencement of the endgame phase. At this stage, the focus shifts predominantly towards Nightmare Dungeons, which emerge as the primary source of experience points (XP) in Season 8. However, it's crucial not to disregard the auxiliary methods of XP acquisition. Playing alongside friends and utilizing Elixirs still provides incremental XP boosts that can prove invaluable, so maintaining these practices remains beneficial even in the higher tiers. With World Tier 3 unlocked, the journey to level 100 begins in earnest with the relentless grind of Nightmare Dungeons. These harrowing labyrinths teem with formidable foes and daunting challenges, yet they offer unparalleled opportunities for rapid XP accumulation. Delve deep into the darkened recesses of these dungeons, slaying monsters, overcoming traps, and looting treasures as you ascend towards the pinnacle of power. As you venture forth into the depths of Nightmare Dungeons, a strategic approach becomes paramount. Aim to grind these dungeons until you've attained a level somewhere between 65 and 70, steadily accumulating experience and honing your skills in the crucible of combat. This initial phase serves as a crucial foundation for the trials that lie ahead, preparing you for the formidable challenges awaiting in the later stages of the endgame. Unfortunately, this means that any cosmetics acquired and progress made by veterans in the original game do not carry over to Blade and Soul Neo. The new release is a separate experience, independent of the original game. The most obvious change is graphical, with Blade and Soul Neo better leveraging Unreal Engine 4. This includes improved texture details, better lighting, and a cleaner user interface (UI). In addition to UE4 graphical fidelity and visual effects, Neo adds new animations. Blade and Soul Neo will launch with only seven playable classes: Assassin, Blade Dancer, Blade Master, Destroyer, Force Master, Kung Fu Master, and Summoner. Many classes introduced over the years, including Astromancer, Dual Blade, Gunslinger, Soul Fighter, Warden, and Warlock, will not be playable at launch. Advanced class specializations are no more. The current Blade and Soul features three elemental play styles for each class, which can be further customized for PvE and PvP specializations. Blade and Soul Neo streamlines this system to a single skill tree per ability, letting you swap between PvE or PvP variations. For example, the Blade Master class uses Thunder Drake Slash when in a special stance. This can be modified to hit multiple times for extra damage or to perform a single enemy-stunning strike. The multi-strike variation is optimal when dealing damage in PvE situations. At the same time, the stunning variant is useful in PvP environments where crowd-controlling attacks are key to shutting down opponents. New to Neo are Soul Cores. Like Wuthering Waves' Echo system and Nioh 2's Yokai Skills, Neo lets you summon a boss' shadow to deal damage with a signature ability. For example, you can summon the ape-like Infernal Lord to perform a flamethrower attack. These abilities are extremely powerful, but have an extended, 1-minute cooldown that prevents overuse. They also have a considerable start-up animation, making them nonoptimal in fast-paced PvP scenarios. Their ideal use case seems to be boss-crushing attacks that are best unleashed when a target is restrained or stunned. Already a club legend for Barcelona, club captain Sergio Busquets has pretty much defined the CDM role over the past ten or fifteen years. Busquets isn‘t fast, mobile, or very strong, but his footballing intelligence is practically unmatched, as reflected in his composure, awareness, ball control, and tackling stats. With an 84 rating, Busquets is still an integral cog in the Barcelona machine. Pedri‘s rating demands an upgrade come FC 25. but for right now managers will have to make do with a rather disappointing 82 for the young midfielder. Still, with 86 ball control, 86 short pass, 86 dribbling, and even 86 stamina, Pedri is a perfect fit for the midfield engine room. His physical stats do let him down somewhat, but in terms of technical midfielders capable of driving the ball forward during transitional play, Pedri is already a master. One of the simplest choices to make and the first outfield name on the team sheet. De Jong has been a polarizing figure since moving to the Nou Camp, but very few can argue with his self-evident ability. A colossal 87 rating makes him Barcelona‘s best outfield player (until Lewandowski arrives), while 90 composure, 88 agility, 90 stamina, 86 vision, and 89 ball control testify to his quality. De jong isn‘t strong and his disappointing shooting stats let him down, but apart from that, the Dutchman‘s inclusion is a no-brainer. It‘s odd that Barcelona wants to get rid of former Manchester United man Memphis Depay considering how good he‘s been for the Catalan giants. Real-world politics aside, Memphis is a superb option on both the LW or straight through the middle, exhibiting solid physical stats and some exceptional ball control. A predatory goalscorer, Memphis‘ 84 finishing, 87 shot power, and 85 curve make him lethal when cutting in off his wing, while his versatility renders him an option as a false-nine, a winger, or an out-and-out striker. Wherever the Dutchman goes, he's an absolute force of nature in FC 25.
